Middle Eastern Blends

In Arabic, Baharat simply means 'spices' an like many blends, recipes vary from region to region and even from cook to cook. Baharat is widely used across the Middle East, almost as an all-purpose seasoning and is often added at the end of cooking for a final flavour boost.

It is especially good as a rub for meats and can be added to butter or oil before frying. You can find a good, simple recipe along these lines on our blog page where baharat is used simply with some steaks.
