Sweet Spice seems almost like an oxymoron at first, but as you can see, it is a busy category. Perhaps our ancestors craved sweetness and before the introduction of sugar, turned to these familiar and often widely used spices.

Much more subtle and varied (not to say healthy!) than sugar-sweetness, these sweet spice are used to flavour all sort of dishes in many international cuisines.
